Information: Like Galan, the Federal Union of Koray was born from rebellion. In the late 1750s, the Government of Anglia, on the western continent of Europa, began to levy excessively high taxes on its colonies on Amerigo, the other, larger western continent. The citizens, angered at what was essentially legalized theft, eventually took up arms and began a long, drawn out rebellion that culminated with the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The resultant six year conflict between Anglian forces and rebels ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1783, proclaiming the now independent state. They named their new nation after the Koray, an ancient band of native warriors who the colonists had admired for their bravery and tenacity in battle. The new Union abolished slavery (which had been legal under Anglian law), abolished all taxes with the exception of a single national sales tax, and created a republican form of government that focused on limited government and codified natural rights for all citizens. The new nation grew exponentially in the following years, until by 1863 it was a major power in the west. The Koray are marked by a fierce dedication to the defense of their nation whenever they are called to defend her. This will come in handy when the Noxites come calling
